Prabhas turns rogue in Spirit: Makers drop intriguing “Sound Story” teaser
Prabhas steps into the shoes of a rebellious ex-officer in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, a gritty pan-India drama teased through a powerful “sound story.”
The much-awaited collaboration between Prabhas and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is beginning to take shape, even though filming for Spirit hasn’t yet begun. To keep the buzz alive, the makers have unveiled a striking “sound-story” teaser that introduces audiences to Prabhas’s character in an unexpected and powerful way.
The teaser paints a gritty picture of a former IPS officer who now finds himself behind bars. His reputation precedes him – he’s known as a man of great skill but even greater defiance. Through a tense conversation between a jailer, played by Prakash Raj, and his assistant, we learn about this enigmatic figure’s turbulent past. Prabhas’ voice cuts through the dialogue with the line, “I have only one bad habit,” leaving fans to speculate what that habit might be. It’s a short yet impactful tease that captures the essence of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s signature storytelling – raw, emotional, and unapologetically intense.
Spirit has been conceived as a massive pan-India project, with the teaser released simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film is produced by Pranay Reddy Vanga, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga, with Shiv Chanana also onboard. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who made waves with Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal, will handle the direction, screenplay, and editing himself.
The technical crew features an impressive lineup: Raj Thota as cinematographer, Suresh Selvarajan handling production design, Supreme Sundar choreographing action sequences, and Harshavardhan Rameshwar composing the music, reuniting with Vanga after Animal. The cast includes Prakash Raj, Vivek Oberoi, Triptii Dimri, and Kanchana in key roles. While there were earlier reports of Deepika Padukone exiting the film over contractual issues, the team seems to have moved on smoothly.
Though filming is yet to commence, with Prabhas busy wrapping up other projects, Spirit has already captured fans’ imagination. With its intriguing premise, fierce protagonist, and Vanga’s emotionally charged direction, Spirit promises to deliver a gripping story of power, redemption, and rebellion – and the teaser is just a taste of what’s to come.
