Prabhas’ Raja Saab new release date announced; to clash with Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan!

The stage is set for an epic box office showdown this Sankranti as two of South India’s biggest stars, Prabhas and Thalapathy Vijay, gear up for a high-voltage clash.

After much anticipation, the makers of Raja Saab have officially announced a new release date. Initially slated for a December 5th premiere, the Prabhas starrer will now hit theatres on January 9th, aligning its release with the lucrative Sankranthi holiday season. The announcement was made by producer TG Vishwa Prasad during the trailer launch event of Mirai earlier today.

As part of the promotional strategy, Raja Saab will feature two trailers – the first one expected in October, planned to be attached to the release of Kantara: Chapter 1, and the second trailer to drop in December, just weeks ahead of the film’s release. This staggered approach aims to build momentum leading into the festive release window.

However, Raja Saab won’t have the Sankranti spotlight all to itself. Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited action drama, the farewell film of the star, Jana Nayagan had already locked in January 9th as its release date back in March. With Vijay’s massive fanbase and high expectations surrounding the film, the clash is expected to be one of the biggest in recent times. Promotional activities for Jana Nayagan are set to kick off in October, with teaser and trailer drops planned to stoke fan excitement leading up to the release.

Adding to the festive frenzy, Suriya’s Karuppu and the Sivakarthikeyan – Ravi Mohan film Parasakthi are also eyeing the Pongal holidays for their releases, promising an intense multi-starrer battle at the box office. Additionally, Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is targeting a Sankranthi day release on January 14th. With five major films aiming for the Sankranthi window, all eyes will be on how these juggernauts strategize their promotions and carve out space in the crowded holiday calendar.
