Parthiban steps into the political arena on-screen with Naan Thaan CM
Parthiban directs and stars in Naan Thaan CM, a political drama exploring power, ambition, and the race for leadership.

Veteran Actor and director Parthiban has officially announced his upcoming film titled Naan Thaan CM. Not only is he at the helm as director, but he also pens the script and takes on the lead role of Singaravelan, a character who sets his sights on becoming the Chief Minister.
The announcement came with a visually compelling first-look poster and a provocative tagline: “Everyone has the democratic right to contest elections. I too am standing. It is your duty to help me into the seat. The first signature I make from the Chief Minister’s chair will ensure that no one else can occupy that seat after me.” The boldness of the message hints at a storyline steeped in political ambition, power dynamics, and the desire for lasting authority.
While the film clearly dives into the world of politics, it’s not yet known whether it will unfold as a hard-hitting drama or lean into satire. Key plot points and the ensemble cast are still being kept under wraps. Naan Thaan CM is being produced by Parthiban’s home banner, Bioscope Film Framers. The poster also teases “from ’26 onwards,” pointing to a potential release sometime in 2026.
On the acting front, Parthiban was last seen in Thiru Manickam, directed by Samuthirakani. He is also part of the upcoming film Idli Kadai, which features Dhanush in the lead. With Naan Thaan CM, Parthiban seems set to continue his legacy of pushing creative boundaries. Audiences can expect a politically driven narrative that’s likely to be as unconventional as it is compelling.
