Actor-filmmaker Parthiban is set to appear in a cameo role in Dhanush’s upcoming directorial Idly Kadai. Sharing the news on X, Parthiban posted a photo with Dhanush and expressed his joy at finally collaborating with him after two missed opportunities – Aadukalam and the shelved project Soodhadi.
“Things came full circle when Dhanush personally invited me for a small honorary role in Idly Kadai. I accepted without hesitation,” Parthiban wrote, adding that dubbing for his part is complete. He also praised Dhanush as a “multi-talented artist” and “pan-Indian star” who “sparkled” in the film.
Idly Kadai features a strong ensemble including Arun Vijay, Nithya Menen, Rajkiran, and Samuthirakani. Dhanush is expected to play the owner of a small eatery named Sivanesan Idli Kadai, though the plot remains under wraps.
The film reunites Dhanush with composer GV Prakash Kumar, with Kiran Koushik (cinematography), Prasanna GK (editing), and Jacki (production design) on the technical team. Produced by Dawn Pictures, Red Giant Movies, and Wunderbar Films, Idly Kadai is Dhanush’s fourth directorial venture. The film is set to hit theatres on October 1st.
