National award winning director Ramkumar, who made a striking debut with Parking, has officially confirmed that his second directorial venture will begin this year. In a recent media interaction, he stated, “My second film will mostly go on floors this year, and final discussions are underway. The official announcement will come within a month.”
While Ramkumar was initially set to direct STR 49, the project has not been dropped. Instead, it has been postponed, with plans to commence next year once the script work is fully completed. Meanwhile, STR has moved forward with a new film directed by Vetrimaaran.
Amid these developments, strong industry buzz suggests that Ramkumar’s upcoming film could feature Chiyaan Vikram, potentially marking it as Chiyaan 65. Vikram already has Chiyaan 63 with Shanthi Talkies and Chiyaan 64, directed by Premkumar for Vels Film International, in his lineup.
An official announcement is expected soon, and fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation of what could be one of Tamil cinema’s next big collaborations.
