Audio launch of Director Pandiraj’s upcoming film, Thalaivan Thalaivi, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in lead roles, was held in Chennai yesterday, with the cast and crew attending the event in full swing.
The star-studded cast also includes Kaali Venkat, Saravanan, and Roshini, with music composed by Santhosh Narayanan. This marks the first collaboration between Pandiraj and Santhosh Narayanan.
Speaking at the red carpet event, director Pandiraj said,
“This is my first audio launch since Namma Veettu Pillai. It’s happening after six years, and it feels special. Vijay Sethupathi sir looked at the cast and asked, ‘How did you manage to bring together such a wonderful team?’ Every actor has performed their role beautifully. Santhosh Narayanan and I are working together for the first time, and today we are releasing the songs of Thalaivan Thalaivi. We’ve been waiting for this moment. The film explores the husband-wife relationship and will definitely resonate with audiences. It’s rightly titled ‘A rugged love story’, and the film lives up to it.”
Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the male lead, shared his thoughts:
“Audio launches like this bring great joy. I can’t quite describe the feeling Pandiraj sir has created – it feels like a festival. We shot for 70 days with the same spirit. I want to thank Pandiraj sir for not just giving us a film to act in, but for offering such a meaningful experience. The way he selected the cast was beautiful – but he made sure we didn’t rest at all! He pushed us to give our best. When he finally revealed the title Thalaivan Thalaivi after dubbing, we all loved it immediately.”
Actress Nithya Menen also expressed her deep attachment to the project:
“Thalaivan Thalaivi is a film very close to my heart. I’ve worked with people I love and respect, and this crew has felt like a family to me. We believe the audience will connect with the story. The film is filled with humor throughout, and I’m sure people will enjoy it. I’ve acted with Vijay Sethupathi sir before in a Malayalam film, but only for three days. We kept saying we should work together on something more substantial – and Thalaivan Thalaivi couldn’t be more perfect.”
With heartfelt performances and a storyline focused on intimate relationships, Thalaivan Thalaivi promises to be a relatable and emotionally rich cinematic experience. The film hits screens on July 25th simultaneously in Tamil & Telugu.
