Paayum Puli – Preview

As Vishal’s Paayum Puli, his third cop film and second collaboration with director Suseenthiran after the highly successful Pandianaadu gears up for release on September 4th, here is what you need to expect from the film. We have compiled some of the best quotes of the team from various events and interviews over the past few weeks.

Suseethiran has turned out to be one of the bankable film-makers who has produced some stirring and poignant films within the confines of mainstream film-making. And Paayum Puli is eagerly awaited since the duo earlier outing Pandianaadu was a grand success both critically and commercially.

The film is inspired from real life incidents and is loosely based on the murder of Sub Inspector Alwin Sudhan who was posthumously honored by the central government for the gallantry award.

Vishal

Paayum Puli is a realistic, undercover cop film. I would say that this is the biggest release in my career. When Susi told me this was a cop film, I was scared, but then, I can clearly differentiate this from my previous two cop films. I am so confident about this film that I don’t have any pre-release jitters.

I play an undercover cop, who is an encounter specialist in the film which is based in Madurai. Paayum Puli will be an exciting film in my career.

Suseethiran

We did not keep in mind about the blockbuster success of our previous film Pandianaadu since it will affect our performance here. We have put in all our hard work for this film. Paayum Puli will be a hit film like Pokkiri

Riveting climax

A climax is what stays with the audience after watching the film. Susee has crafted an extraordinary climax for the film, just like Pandianadu

Vairamuthu

I have watched the entire film. Paayum Puli is an important film in Vishal’s cinema journey. Because, Suseenthiran has directed it in a such  a manner. Suseenthiran’s films always accelerate during the ninth reel of the run-time. In Ramayana, Valmiki stimulated the pace of the story by introducing a character called Mareesan. Vyaasa introduced the character Keesan to accelerate the pace in Mahabharata. Suseenthiran has successfully cracked his success formula. He turns his films turn upside down by introducing a new character
