Nivin Pauly calls his role in Benz “a Bloodbath,” embraces a brutal new avatar
Nivin Pauly reveals his darkest, most violent transformation yet in Benz, playing the ruthless Walter in Bakkiyaraj Kannan’s action thriller.

Nivin Pauly has opened up about his intense character in the upcoming Tamil action thriller Benz, describing the role as one of the most brutal he has ever undertaken. The film, directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and produced under the banner of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe, will see Nivin Pauly playing Walter, a ruthless and menacing antagonist – a stark departure from the actor’s more familiar screen persona.
In recent comments, Nivin revealed that his character’s arc is steeped in aggression and sheer violence, earning him the description “a bloodbath” for the film’s tone and narrative. Originally approached for a different part, he later embraced the villainous role, which demanded a complete shift in his acting approach. Acknowledging the differences between Malayalam and Tamil cinema, Nivin said he modified both his performance style and dialogue delivery to suit the distinct rhythm and intensity of the role. Despite its ferocity, the character also incorporates touches of dark humour, with moments designed to elicit uneasy laughter while maintaining an undercurrent of fear.
This transformation signals a bold new phase for Nivin, showcasing his willingness to stretch beyond his established repertoire. The actor expressed confidence that this portrayal will be a standout in his career, offering audiences something unexpected and memorable.
Benz marks an expansion of the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe, following previous installments known for their layered action and interconnected storytelling. Alongside Nivin Pauly, the film stars Raghava Lawrence, and also features performances from Samyuktha and others.
