Dulquer Salmaan to romance Nithya Menen in Mani Ratnam’s next

We earlier reported here that Nithya Menen is in the running for the female lead in Mani Ratnam’s next film starring Dulquer Salmaan. After a lot of names being speculated including Alia Bhatt and Shruti Haasan, it’s been confirmed from bankable sources that Nithya Menen will indeed play the female lead opposite Dulquer. Nithya Menen and Dulquer’s chemistry in Malayalam film Ustad Hotel, directed by Anjali Menon, was loved by critics and film buffs alike.

Touted to be a breezy romantic tale, this film marks the coming together of ace cinematographer PC Sreeram and Mani Ratnam after 14 long years. Their last film together was coincidentally another lovely trend-setting romantic film Alaipayuthey starring Madhavan and Shalini in lead roles. AR Rahman will compose music and Sreekar Prasad will take care of editing for the film. The shooting will commence from October 6th.
