Nishabdham Movie Review

Even Madhavan and Anushka can’t save this poorly written film from becoming a big bore.

Anushka Shetty’s Nishabdham (Silence) is the latest entrant to the list of disappointing films making their debut on Amazon Prime. The film is completely set in foreign locales and has a well-known cast consisting of Madhavan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali and others.

The film is about a painter who wants to lay her hands on a painting that is inside a haunted house. When she takes her new boyfriend and enters the house, a quick turn of events sees her boyfriend getting killed. The real truth behind the murder and the catching of the culprit is what Silence’s storyline is all about. The film does have scope for something interesting, but sadly, nothing works in its favour. The storyline is packed with loads of boring sequences that only bring the old wine in a new bottle and do not offer anything new other than a predictable screenplay and awkward moments. The first half does show a little bit of promise, but there is absolutely nothing to celebrate about the second half.

Even though the film has names such as Anushka Shetty, Madhavan, Anjali and Shalini Pandey, there is not even one good performance worth talking about. This is the biggest failure for the film, as it totally puts a great cast into tatters.

Gopi Sundar’s music is just crossing the line, with a couple of songs sticking to our mind. The cinematography, editing and the rest of the technicalities are plain average.

On the whole, Nishabdham (Silence) is a major disappointment looking at the scale and the potential that the film had. It is quite baffling as to how Anushka Shetty had chosen this film after staying away from the limelight for a while. Nishabdham Movie Review by Only Kollywood

Verdict: A dry and drab film that has nothing to offer!
