Suriya’s NGK which opened to mixed reviews topped the Chennai city box-office for the weekend May 31-June 2. took the top spot comfortably. The 3-day opening gross stands at a fantastic Rs 3.07 crores (1.03 + 1.07 + 0.97). The TN gross of the film stands at Rs 23 crores in three days, securing the fourth biggest opening weekend total in TN this year after Viswasam, Petta, and Kanchana 3.
NGK also marks Suriya’s career-best opening. Meanwhile, Prabhudeva, Tamannaah’s horror comedy Devi 2 took in Rs 67 lakhs in its opening weekend in the city and came at the second spot, followed by Hollywood film Godzilla: King of the Monsters in the 3rd spot with Rs 64 lakhs.
