New romantic drama movie announced with ‘96’ duo Gouri Kishan and Adithya Bhaskar

Actors Gouri Kishan and Adithya Bhaskar are all set to collaborate once more, marking their third on-screen pairing in an upcoming film helmed by debutant director Rajkumar Rangasamy. Currently referred to as Production #1, the film is anticipated to be a romantic drama with emotional depth and vibrant storytelling.

Gouri and Adithya first captured hearts in the 2018 romantic hit 96, directed by C Prem Kumar, a film that was both critically acclaimed and beloved by audiences. The duo reunited in 2024 for Hot Spot, directed by Vignesh Karthick, and now look to recreate that magic once again with this new venture.

The announcement was made with a nostalgic nod to their earlier success, as the makers shared, “The pair of ‘96 is back, this time with a fresh dose of magic, fire, and feels.” Accompanying the reveal was a striking poster that carried the tagline: “Two hearts, one nest, endless battles,” suggesting a story brimming with both love and conflict.

Adding further interest to the cast, veteran actor and filmmaker Bhagyaraj is also set to play a significant role in the film. However, the production team has chosen to keep most details under wraps for now, including the full cast lineup, storyline, and expected release timeline.

The film’s technical crew brings together some promising talent – MS Jones Rupert will be composing the music, while L Ramachandran takes charge of cinematography. Editing duties are being handled by Barath Vikraman. The project is produced by Kannadhason and will be presented under the banner of Origin Studios.
