Multilingual film Aasha begins shoot with Urvashi and Joju George

The upcoming multilingual film Aasha has officially begun production, bringing together some of Malayalam cinema’s most celebrated talents. Actors Urvashi and Joju George, known for their powerful screen presence, lead the cast of this pan-India project, which held its traditional muhurat ceremony at the Thrikkakkara Vamana Moorthy Temple in Kochi.

Marking his directorial debut, Safar Sanal not only directs Aasha but also pens the story. The screenplay and dialogues have been collaboratively written by Safar Sanal, Joju George, and Ramesh Girija, who previously worked on the acclaimed film Pani. The launch event saw Joju lighting the ceremonial lamp along with cinematographer Madhu Neelakandan and the director. Joju also gave the inaugural clap, while Madhu rolled the camera for the first shot.

Joining the ensemble cast are Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vijayaraghavan, and Ramesh Girija. Behind the scenes, the technical crew includes editor Shan Mohammed, music composer Midhun Mukundan, production designer Jayashree Lakshminarayanan, sound designer Sandeep Madhavam, stunt coordinator Supreme Sundar, and makeup artist Ronex Xavier.

Aasha is being filmed as a pan-Indian project and will be released in five Indian languages, aiming to resonate with a wide audience across regions. With a strong cast, a promising debut director, and a seasoned crew, Aasha is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
