Mohanlal’s Vrusshabha gets a new global release date; locked for Christmas 2025
Mohanlal’s much-awaited epic Vrusshabha is officially set to release worldwide on December 25th, promising a festive cinematic experience filled with grandeur and emotion.

The awaited multilingual period epic Vrusshabha, starring Mohanlal, has once again undergone a schedule change. Initially planned for a Diwali release in October and later postponed to November 6, the film is now officially slated to hit screens worldwide on December 25th, 2025.
Sharing the update on social media, Mohanlal wrote, “Some stories are more than cinema, they’re legacies. This Christmas, witness that legacy roar to life in #Vrusshabha. A film that celebrates emotion, grandeur, and destiny.”
Directed by Nanda Kishore, who is known for his acclaimed works in Kannada cinema, Vrusshabha is described as a father-son drama that unfolds across two contrasting timelines. In the period portions, Mohanlal reportedly portrays a king, bringing his trademark gravitas to an emotionally charged role. The ensemble cast includes Samarjit Lankesh, Ragini Dwivedi, Roshan Meka, Shanaya Kapoor, Zara Khan, and Srikanth Meka, each playing crucial roles that link the film’s dual narratives.
On the technical front, Vrusshabha boasts an impressive team comprising Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty, cinematographer Antony Samson, editor KM Prakash, and music composer Sam CS. The action is choreographed by Peter Hein, Stunt Silva, and Nikhil, promising grand set-pieces befitting the film’s scale.
With its new release date aligning with Christmas, Vrusshabha is set to arrive as a festive spectacle that blends emotion, grandeur, and legacy: positioning itself as one of 2025’s most anticipated cinematic events.
