Mask movie audio launch speech: Vetrimaaran, Vijay Sethupathi, Nelson, GV Prakash, Andrea & Kavin share inspiring moments
Vetrimaaran, Vijay Sethupathi, Nelson, GV Prakash, Andrea, and Kavin deliver heartfelt speeches at Mask audio launch, celebrating creativity, collaboration, and the film’s unique cinematic vision.

The audio launch of Mask turned out to be an evening filled with laughter, heartfelt gratitude, and admiration, as the film’s cast and crew took the stage to share stories, emotions, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes.
Director Nelson Dilipkumarset the tone with his characteristic wit and sincerity, revealing his admiration for Mask’s unconventional storytelling. “When I first heard the story, I asked Vetri sir how he was doing something so different,” he recalled. “He simply said, that’s why I called you.” Nelson praised Kavin’s complex grey-shaded character, the film’s unique execution, and director Vikarnan’s fresh approach. He called Mask the most technically accomplished film of Kavin’s career and a promising start to a long, successful journey.
Music director GV Prakash Kumar, who joined the project at the last moment, shared that his collaboration stemmed from his close rapport with Vetrimaaran. He revealed that the soulful “Kannumuzhi” song, originally made for another major project, found its home in Mask. He expressed admiration for Andrea Jeremiah’s evolution and wished success for the entire team.
Andrea Jeremiah, visibly emotional, thanked Vetrimaaran for believing in the project, calling Mask a special film. She hailed GV Prakash’s music as one of his best since Amaran, while expressing gratitude to every crew member who made the film possible.
Director Vikarnan took a moment to acknowledge Andrea’s pivotal role in bringing the project to life. “She took this story to Vetri sir – that’s where it all began,” he said. He also shared insights about the story, which revolves around a “good boy vs bad boy” dynamic, lauding Kavin for internalizing the character’s depth. His anecdotes about observing Vetrimaaran’s editing process during Viduthalai revealed the discipline and storytelling precision that inspired him.
Vijay Sethupathi, with his trademark humility and humor, stole the show. He praised Vikarnan’s honesty, called Vetrimaaran “a man who never wears a mask,” and expressed curiosity about Nelson’s mysterious role in the film. Addressing Kavin, he said, “Your experiments might bring both wins and falls – but such films will protect your career.” His light-hearted comment on Andrea’s timeless appearance drew laughter, while he also expressed eagerness to collaborate with GV Prakash.
Mentor Vetrimaaran shared his journey with Mask, crediting Andrea for bringing him the script. He revealed that Nelson has lent his voice and creative input to the film, calling him a valuable collaborator. “We softened Kavin’s character a bit – it was originally darker,” he said. He also disclosed that “Kannumuzhi” was originally composed for Vaadivaasal but was later offered to Mask with permission from producer Thanu. He concluded by dedicating the film’s soul to the legendary MR Radha, expressing confidence in its success.
Finally, Kavin’s emotional speech tied the night together. He recalled his early appearance alongside Vijay Sethupathi in Pizza and his continued mentorship under Vetrimaaran. With heartfelt gratitude, he said, “I told Vetri sir to take care of me, and he still holds my hand.” His humor and humility resonated as he quipped about Mask’s uncertain business phase, comparing it to the Aadukalam interval block – a moment of trust before triumph.
The Mask audio launch wasn’t just a promotional event; it was a celebration of creative collaboration, mentorship, and shared vision. With an ensemble of passionate voices, Mask promises a refreshing cinematic experience: bold, experimental, and unmistakably heartfelt.
