Maragadha Naanayam 2 casts Sathyaraj and Priya Bhavani Shankar alongside Aadhi
The sequel reunites director ARK Saravanan with Aadhi Pinisetty, while Sathyaraj and Priya Bhavani Shankar join the cast alongside returning performers from the original film.

The makers of Maragadha Naanayam 2 have unveiled a major casting update, adding veterans Sathyaraj and Priya Bhavani Shankar to the ensemble alongside returning lead Aadhi Pinisetty. The announcement was made today, for Pongal, confirming several key details about the sequel to the 2017 hit.
Directed by ARK Saravanan, who also helmed the original Maragadha Naanayam, the sequel reunites familiar faces from the first film. Alongside Aadhi and Nikki Galrani, actors Munishkanth, Anandaraj, Danie, Arunraja Kamaraj, and Muruganandam will reprise their roles, expanding the ensemble for this follow-up project.
The technical crew includes Dhibu Ninan Thomas as music composer, PV Shankar on cinematography, and Thirumalai Rajan R handling the editing duties. Details surrounding the plot and genre specifics have yet to be disclosed by the makers, but the return of much of the original cast signals a continuation of the quirky, adventure-driven tone that made the first film a standout.
Maragadha Naanayam 2 is backed by a collaboration of production houses, including Passion Studios, Axess Film Factory, Good Show, Dangal TV, and RDC Media. Producers Sudhan Sundaram, Dev, KV Durai, Manish Singhal, and Durgaram Choudhary lead the project, supported by co-producers RC Rajkumar, Akshat Singhal, and Mohit Singhal.
The original Maragadha Naanayam, written and directed by Saravanan, emerged in 2017 as a fantasy comedy revolving around a cursed emerald and a pair of petty thieves drawn into supernatural mishaps while searching for treasure. Its unique blend of humour and mystery built a strong cult following, setting high expectations for the sequel. With its star-studded cast and creative team intact, Maragadha Naanayam 2 is shaping up as one of the notable Tamil cinema sequels to watch in the coming year.
