Mani Ratnam wanted Ponniyin Selvan to be a realistic film: Jeyamohan

In his blogpost yesterday, Ponniyin Selvan’s writer Jeyamohan has put out an interesting perspective that the director Mani Ratnam was clear about the fact that he wanted PS1 to be a realistic film. The writer said that Mani Ratnam wanted to remove the heroism, drama and adventures of the film and make it very straightforward for the audiences.

For those comparing Ponniyin Selvan with Baahubali, the writer’s note about the film has made it clear. There are not many complaints whatsoever, because Ponniyin Selvan is indeed making it big at the box office with more than 250 crore collected worldwide already.
