Young director Karthick Naren is getting ready for his next release in Mafia, which is technically his second film in his career. In a press meet kick-starting the promotions for the film, Karthick spoke about the style of the film, and how he has got inspired by Narcos, and the filmmaking styles of Mani Ratnam and Christopher Nolan.
“Mafia is more of a commercial film, compared to Dhruvangal Pathinaaru, even though we have tried out a non-linear narrative. Arun Vijay plays a narcotics officer in the film, while Prasanna plays an entrepreneur. Mafia is kind of inspired from Narcos, but the similarities will end with the narcotics element. I believe in engaging the audiences with the presentation itself, so it’s conscious decision to make it a stylized film,” said the director.
