Madhavan’s striking look revealed for GD Naidu biopic GDN
Madhavan transforms into legendary inventor GD Naidu for G.D.N, a biopic directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar with music by Govind Vasantha and a stellar ensemble cast.
Madhavan is set to portray the legendary engineer-entrepreneur G.D. Naidu in the upcoming biopic titled G.D.N. After the announcement, the makers recently unveiled a motion poster that highlights Madhavan’s remarkable physical transformation, complete with prosthetics and an industrial‐era look characteristic of Naidu’s pioneering era.
Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar (known for Oho Enthan Baby), the film chronicles Naidu’s journey from self-taught inventor to industrial icon, often dubbed the “Edison of India”. The motion poster depicts Madhavan welding while masked, concluding with the reveal of his face – an evocative nod to Naidu’s drive and ingenuity.
In addition to Madhavan’s central role (who also serves as a producer), the ensemble cast features prominent names including Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Thambi Ramaiah, Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu and Karunakaran. The film’s music is composed by Govind Vasantha, adding further creative depth to this ambitious project.
This venture marks Madhavan’s second major biopic after Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which he also directed and starred in. With the first look out, anticipation is building among audiences eager to witness both the story of G.D. Naidu and Madhavan’s transformation for the role. The film promises a gripping mix of inspiration, history, and human drama, with fans eagerly awaiting its release and is expected to be one of the most ambitious biopics in recent Tamil cinema. With brisk shoot underway currently, GDN is slated for release in Summer 2026.
