The release of Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), directed by Vignesh Shivan and starring Pradeep Ranganathan, has been officially postponed. Initially scheduled for an October 17th release, the film will now hit theatres on December 18, 2025.
In an official statement shared via social media, the makers cited their intent to avoid a box office clash with Dude, another upcoming film featuring Pradeep in the lead. “Like two trains on the same track, a head-on collision helps no one,” the team wrote. “With genuine concern for our beloved hero Pradeep Ranganathan and respect for the efforts behind both films, we’ve thoughtfully decided to reschedule.”
The production house further added that they had attempted to coordinate with Dude’s production team, Mythri Movies, but were unable to reach a mutual understanding. Choosing collaboration over competition, they wished Dude a successful Diwali release.
Dude, directed by Keerthiswaran, marks the Tamil debut of music composer Sai Abhyankkar and actress Mamitha Baiju. The film is slated to release on the original October 17th date, setting the stage for a festive box office run. Also, Dude to see its grand release in Tamilnadu via AGS Entertainment, the banner who earlier bankrolled Pradeep’s earlier films Love Today and Dragon.
With LIK now moving to December, both films aim to shine independently and without overlap.
