Lokesh Kanagaraj’s G Squad backs Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Tamil debut starring Soori
In a move that’s bound to stir excitement among film enthusiasts, celebrated Malayalam director Lijo Jose Pellissery is stepping into Tamil cinema with a new feature film, produced by Lokesh Kanagaraj’s banner, G Squad. The project will see actor Soori take on the lead role.
Lijo, whose reputation for bold, genre-defying storytelling has been cemented through films like Angamaly Diaries, Ee.Ma.Yau, Jallikattu, and Churuli, will be bringing his signature style of gritty realism and narrative experimentation to Tamil audiences for the first time.
At the center of this collaboration is Soori, who recently earned critical and commercial acclaim for his performance in Maaman. Known for his transition from comedic roles to intense character portrayals, Soori is expected to further showcase his range under Lijo’s distinctive direction.
The film is being produced by G Squad, the production house helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. With recent projects like Benz already under its belt, G Squad is carving a niche in promoting innovative, content-driven cinema that resonates across language barriers.
