Renowned filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, currently busy with promotions for his upcoming action drama Coolie, has revealed an intriguing behind-the-scenes detail about Parasakthi, the highly anticipated film starring Sivakarthikeyan. In a recent interview with senior journalist Bismi, Lokesh disclosed that he was initially considered to play the antagonist in Parasakthi, a role that ultimately went to actor Ravi Mohan.
“I was really drawn to the story,” Lokesh shared. “Even Sivakarthikeyan was supportive and felt I should do it. But I had to make a tough call because of Coolie. Managing both projects would have been nearly impossible, especially with the timelines clashing.”
Following his decision to step away from the role, Lokesh was approached by director Arun Matheswaran with a new project. Enthusiastic about the collaboration, Lokesh decided to take it on. Reports from June had hinted at the filmmaker undergoing rigorous martial arts training, presumably for this film with the Captain Miller director. He is expected to complete work on Arun’s project before moving on to his next directorial, Kaithi 2, a LCU flick starring Karthi.
After Kaithi 2, Lokesh is also slated to team up with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan for a superhero venture, marking yet another major step in his expanding career.
As for Coolie, the film is set to hit theatres on August 14th. Featuring a star-studded lineup including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan, the film also promises surprise cameos from Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde, adding to the growing anticipation.
