The makers of the grandeur fantasy film “Genie” have dropped their first single, “Abdi Abdi”, offering fans a vibrant and visually striking dance number. Featuring Ravi Mohan, Krithi Shetty, and Kalyani Priyadarshan, the track blends high-energy choreography with a distinct musical flair where all three leads shine with charm and grace throughout the song.
Composed by AR Rahman, “Abdi Abdi” brings together the vocals of Maysaa Karaa and Deepthi Suresh, alongside a dynamic rap section by Freek. The lyrics are penned by Mashook Rahman, adding lyrical vibrance to Rahman’s enchanting composition. This marks the fourth collaboration between Rahman and Ravi Mohan, following Ponniyin Selvan Parts 1 & 2 and Kadhalikka Neramillai.
The song closes with a subtle classical touch, seamlessly woven into Rahman’s layered soundscape, a moment that stands out both musically and visually. While “Abdi Abdi” doesn’t reveal much about the film’s narrative, it does hint at a fresh twist: Ravi Mohan’s genie character isn’t one who takes orders – he gives them.
Directed by Arjunan Jr. and produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under Vels Film International, Genie also stars Devayani, Wamiqa Gabbi, and others. The film’s technical crew includes Mahesh Muthuswami (cinematography), Pradeep E. Ragav (editing), Mayapandi V (art direction), and Yannick Ben (stunt direction).
The film is yet to announce its official release date. In the meantime, “Abdi Abdi” sets the stage for what promises to be a grand fantasy spectacle.
