From STR49 to Pallichattambi, Kayadu Lohar shares her journey and clarifies misinformation about the Karur stampede.

Kayadu Lohar, who gained recognition with her breakthrough role in Dragon, has steadily been making a mark across South Indian cinema. Known for her dedication to challenging roles and versatility across languages, Kayadu continues to evolve as an actress eager to prove her mettle.

“I’m eagerly waiting for STR49 to release so people can watch my role,” says Kayadu, recalling how she once did a look test with Silambarasan for VTK but didn’t get the chance to work with him then. During the STR 49 pooja, she reminded STR of that earlier look test, and he responded warmly, “Yeah, I remember. Good, ma.”

Kayadu’s journey spans multiple languages and complex characters, and she is especially proud of her upcoming Malayalam film Pallichattambi. In this movie, she portrays a historical figure who fought against the breast tax, a sensitive and significant issue in Kerala’s past. She admits satisfying the discerning Malayalam audience is a tough challenge. To fully embody her role, Kayadu trained in Kalaripayattu, the traditional martial art, and undertook intense physical training to develop the abs and physique the character demands.

Separately, Kayadu Lohar took to Twitter to clarify misinformation surrounding the tragic Karur stampede. False rumors circulated on social media claiming she lost a close friend in the incident. Kayadu firmly denied these claims, emphasizing that such messages originated from fake accounts. She expressed her heartfelt condolences for the victims and their families while urging people to verify information before sharing.

She also responded to criticism regarding her promotional style, explaining that playful banter and memes often seen in interviews are scripted for entertainment rather than self-promotion. Kayadu reiterated her commitment to her craft and her hope that audiences will focus on her performances rather than sensationalism.

Balancing ambition with authenticity, from waiting to showcase her talent in STR49 to embracing physically demanding roles like in Pallichattambi, and navigating the complexities of social media, Kayadu Lohar’s journey is one of resilience and growth.
