Karthi’s Marshal resumes with an expansive Trichy schedule
The next schedule of Karthi’s period adventure Marshal begins in Trichy, featuring a massive set, a pirate-driven plot, and a powerful ensemble cast.

Karthi’s upcoming film, Marshal, is back in motion as its second schedule begins today in Tiruchirappalli. The actor is expected to join the shoot on November 19, signaling a significant ramp-up in production. To accommodate this leg, the team has constructed a massive set in Trichy that evokes a rich, vintage aura, befitting the film’s period backdrop.
Marshal has been officially revealed as a high-stakes period drama, set in Rameswaram in the 1960s and 70s, and directed by Tamizh of Taanakkaran fame. The narrative promises escapism with its pirate-themed storyline: a rare setting in contemporary Tamil cinema blending action, drama, and adventure in equal measure. This bold choice of theme suggests that the film aims to be more than a conventional gangster tale, offering an expansive, swashbuckling journey instead.
Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the female lead, marking a fresh on-screen pairing with Karthi. The supporting cast is impressive and diverse, featuring prominent actors such as Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Lal, John Kokken, and Easwari Rao, among others. Their presence elevates the scale and stature of what is being billed as one of Karthi’s most ambitious projects. On the technical front, the production has brought together strong talent: Sai Abhyankkar composes the music, Sathyan Sooriyan handles cinematography, Philomin Raj edits, and Arun Venjaramoodu leads on production design.
With its vintage feel, pirate-inflected plot, and a robust ensemble, Marshal is shaping up to be a visually compelling period adventure. As the second schedule gets underway in Trichy, fans eagerly await further updates on its progress and eventual release.
