Karthi heads to Malaysia for ‘Banduan’ premiere; buzz on Kaithi 2 update grows stronger
Karthi’s Malaysia visit for Banduan premiere sparks major buzz as fans eagerly await official confirmation on Kaithi 2 and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next move.

Actor Karthi is all set to fly to Malaysia for the Grand Gala Première of Banduan, the official Malay remake of his blockbuster Kaithi, scheduled for November 4th, 2025. The event, promoted as “Dilli Meets Dali,” is expected to be a grand celebration, with promotions in full swing across Malaysia.
Currently shooting for Marshal, and awaiting the release of Vaa Vaathiyaar on December 5th, Karthi’s visit to Malaysia has also stirred strong anticipation among fans for an update on Kaithi 2 – one of the most awaited sequels in Tamil cinema.
According to industry buzz, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has already begun pre-production work on Kaithi 2, even as he juggles his acting debut in Arun Matheswaran’s DC. Reports suggest that once Lokesh wraps up his acting commitments which is expected by January, he will fully focus on Kaithi 2 with Karthi joining after completing Marshal.
If true, the long-awaited sequel might finally move into production in early 2026, continuing the gritty story of Dilli that won hearts across audiences. However, sources close to the team maintain that these are unconfirmed reports, and fans will have to wait for an official announcement, which may well happen during Karthi’s Malaysian visit.
Either way, the excitement around both Banduan and Kaithi 2 signals that Dilli’s legacy is far from over and his return might just be around the corner.
