Kamal Haasan to star in Aamir Khan’s PK remake

The latest buzz in the tinsel town is Kamal Haasan will reprise the role of Aamir Khan in the remake of PK directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Gemini Film Circuit, who has acquired the remake rights for the film in Tamil and Telugu, has already finalized Kamal Haasan for the lead role and the rest of the details are yet to be decided. It is worth recalling that Gemini Film Circuit has earlier remade Rajkumar Hirani-Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Munnaibhai MBBS as Vasool Raja MBBS and 3 Idiots as Nanban in Tamil with Kamal and Vijay respectively.

Sources say Kamal Haasan will start working on the film from May. Given the controversies that were in motion for PK, Kamal Haasan’s addition would, without doubt, invite more fringe groups to show tantrums if the news is indeed true. On the other hand, we think, Kamal Haasan is after all the most apt choice for the role to present a subject of this enormous sensitiveness in a light-hearted manner.
