Kamal Haasan and Gauthami to come together for Drishyam tamil

The official announcement on the Tamil remake of widely-acclaimed Malayalam film Drishyam is highly anticipated. It was earlier reported that Kamal Haasan will reprise Mohan Lal’s role and Meena will repeat her role for the remake. There were also speculations about Nadhiya being part of the project. Now, the rumors can finally rest. The Tamil remake will be helmed by Jeetu Joseph (who also directed the original version) and Kamal Haasan and Gouthami will come together on the silver screen after nearly two decades.

Gouthami has always been part of landmark films in Kamal Haasan’s career. Films like Thevar Magan, Apoorva Sagotharargal and Kuruthi Punal stand testimony to the same. Drishyam is set in the backdrop of Tirunelveli and unlike the original version where Mohanlal and Meena play Malayali Christians, Kamal and Gouthami will play Tamil Brahmins in the film. It will be produced by Suresh Balaji under his banner Wide Angle Films of Billa 2, Kreedom and Yaavarum Nalam fame. M. Ghibran is likely to be music composer of the film. It will mark his third consecutive collaboration with the Ulaganayagan after Vishwaroopam 2 and Uttama Villain.
