Jayaram and Urvashi reunite for Pandiraj’s next

Jayaram confirms his reunion with Urvashi in Pandiraj’s upcoming film, revealing their strong chemistry often leads to multiple retakes due to laughter on sets.

Seasoned actors Jayaram and Urvashi are set to share the screen once again in an upcoming Tamil film directed by Pandiraj, marking a reunion of a beloved comic pairing nearly two decades after their previous collaborations. The news was confirmed by Jayaram during a recent podcast appearance with his son Kalidas Jayaram, as both promote their Malayalam release Ashakal Ayiram.

Jayaram revealed that he and Urvashi, both widely recognized for their exceptional comic timing in films such as Panchathanthiram and Kadinjool Kalyanam, are currently shooting for the untitled project under Pandiraj’s direction. The veteran pair, who have shared memorable screen moments in the past, are once again cast as the hero and heroine, although official details including the film’s title and full cast are yet to be announced.

In a light-hearted disclosure, Jayaram spoke about the dynamic on set, explaining that their natural sense of humor often leads to extended filming. “We end up doing about 10-15 takes for every scene because either Urvashi or I end up laughing,” he said, underscoring the easy rapport and camaraderie between them during the shoot.

Pandiraj, known for his blend of family drama and humor, lastly directed the Blockbuster Thalaivan Thalaivii with Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen. Fans and industry observers are expecting this collaboration with Jayaram and Urvashi to be a warm entertainer that leans into their strengths in comic timing and chemistry. But, the film is also said to be in a thriller zone apart from its comic side.

This project marks a significant reunion for two much loved actors whose careers have spanned decades across South Indian cinema. While production continues and more details are awaited, there is clear excitement among audiences who recall their past on-screen synergy.
