The makers of Jana Nayagan have officially confirmed a major milestone for the film’s Hindi version, Jan Neta, marking a significant expansion of Thalapathy Vijay’s reach across North India. As previously reported, the North Indian distribution rights have been acquired by leading distributor Zee Studios. The latest update confirms that the film will receive a wide theatrical release across the region in association with major multiplex chains, which includes PVN INOX, Cinepolis, Mukta Cinemas, Rajhans Multiplex, Miraj Cinemas, Movie Time Cinemas, Wave, etc.
This strategic release plan also confirms that the Hindi version of the film will arrive on OTT platforms only after completing an eight-week theatrical window. The move ensures strong box-office visibility across multiplexes, a first for a Thalapathy Vijay film in the North Indian market. Until now, Vijay’s previous Hindi releases did not secure extensive multiplex screenings, largely due to shorter theatrical windows before digital premieres.
With this development, Jan Neta becomes the biggest-ever theatrical release for a Thalapathy Vijay film across North India, underlining the growing demand for the actor’s films beyond the southern markets. Industry observers view this as a major step in positioning Jana Nayagan as a truly pan-Indian release.
Following the grand audio launch held in Malaysia last night, anticipation around the film has further intensified. All eyes are now on the highly awaited trailer, which is expected to be unveiled on New Year’s Eve. Jana Nayagan is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9th, promising a massive opening across domestic and international markets.
