Jana Nayagan censor update: When will the revising committee watch the film?

With delays in the censor process, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan now awaits a revising committee screening, reportedly expected to take place on March 17.

The censorship process for Jana Nayagan, widely reported to be actor Vijay’s final film before entering full-time politics, appears to be progressing slowly as the film awaits clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Earlier reports indicated that the film’s makers had approached the High Court regarding the delay in the certification process. However, the team later withdrew the case and decided to wait for the CBFC’s revising committee to review the film and issue its certification.

In recent days, speculation emerged that the revising committee members were scheduled to watch the film earlier today. However, the screening did not take place as planned and has reportedly been postponed. According to the latest buzz in industry circles, the committee is now expected to view the film on March 17.

The ongoing wait has not only kept fans on edge but has also drawn the attention of other film producers. Several projects planned for the summer release window are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, as they await clarity on Jana Nayagan’s release date in order to avoid potential box-office clashes.

Directed by H Vinoth, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narain, among others.

The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, whose songs from the soundtrack have already gained significant popularity. Jana Nayagan is produced by KVN Productions and is one of the most anticipated Tamil releases of the year.
