The audio launch event for Jana Nayagan, starring Thalapathy Vijay, has achieved a remarkable milestone by earning a place in the Malaysia Book of Records. The grand affair took place on December 27 at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, where an estimated 80,000 fans and guests gathered for what was described as a historic celebration ahead of the film’s January 9th, 2026 release.
Organized as part of a larger cultural programme titled Thalapathy Thiruvizha, the event marked the first time a Tamil film audio launch of this scale was held outside India, drawing audiences from around the world. In recognition of this unprecedented turnout for a promotional event, the Malaysia Book of Records officially documented the achievement.
Vijay, who has announced that Jana Nayagan will be his final movie before transitioning full-time into politics, delivered an emotional address at the event. Reflecting on his long and successful cinematic career, he expressed deep gratitude to his supporters, crediting them for his rise in the industry and emphasising his commitment to serving his audience in a new capacity.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and Mamitha Baiju. The film is produced by Venkat K Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
Even before its theatrical debut, Jana Nayagan is generating considerable excitement and commercial momentum, with pre-release promotions and audience engagement reaching record proportions.
