Jailer 2 Box Office: Rajinikanth’s film becomes Tamil cinema’s biggest grosser!
Rajinikanth adds another box-office milestone with Jailer 2, which has reportedly crossed ₹650 crore worldwide and recorded strong collections across domestic and overseas markets.
Jailer 2 has reportedly crossed the ₹650 crore mark worldwide within 11 days of its theatrical run, surpassing Rajinikanth’s earlier blockbuster 2.0 to emerge as Tamil cinema’s highest-grossing film, according to the latest box-office figures. The film is now heading towards the ₹700 crore milestone, a new benchmark for the industry.
With Jailer 2, the Superstar becomes the only Tamil star to have four films grossing over ₹500 crore worldwide: 2.0, Jailer, Coolie and Jailer 2.
Rajinikanth has also reportedly become the only Tamil star with three films crossing ₹600 crore worldwide, with 2.0, Jailer and Jailer 2 achieving the milestone. Vijay is the only other Tamil actor in this bracket, with Leo having grossed over ₹600 crore globally.
Jailer 2 Box Office Collection Across Territories
Jailer 2 has recorded strong collections across domestic and overseas markets. Tamil Nadu has contributed more than ₹165 crore, while Kerala has crossed ₹70 crore. The Kerala figure is being reported as an all-time record for a Tamil film.
The film has also collected around ₹250 crore from overseas markets, setting another reported all-time record for Tamil cinema. Meanwhile, the Telugu states have contributed over ₹85 crore in 11 days, and Karnataka has crossed the ₹75 crore mark.
North India has also contributed more than ₹45 crore, despite the film reportedly having no multiplex release in the region. These figures underline the film’s strong reach beyond its home market.
Jailer 2 Eyes the ₹200 Crore Mark in Tamil Nadu
In Tamil Nadu, Jailer 2 is approaching the ₹200 crore gross milestone and is expected to make further progress this week if its current momentum continues. The film is aiming to join the state’s elite box-office club, alongside The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), Ponniyin Selvan: I and Leo.
With major Diwali releases arriving next weekend, Jailer 2 still has an opportunity to extend its theatrical run. Its final box-office total will depend on audience turnout and the performance of new releases. With its current box-office momentum, Jailer 2 is expected to surpass the ₹700 crore mark worldwide this week. It remains to be seen how far the Rajinikanth-starrer will go by then and what further records it will set before its theatrical run slows down.
