Is Romeo Pictures’ Raahul the front-runner for Tamil Nadu rights of Jana Nayagan?
Raahul of Romeo Pictures eyes a historic deal for Jana Nayagan after securing rights for Vijay’s The GOAT and Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly.

Raahul, the man behind Romeo Pictures, is fast emerging as one of the most prominent players in Kollywood’s production and distribution landscape. After securing the Tamil Nadu distribution rights for two of the industry’s most anticipated films, Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT and Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly, industry buzz suggests he may have now set his sights on an even bigger prize.
Sources indicate that Raahul is currently the leading contender to bag the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights for Jana Nayagan, Thalapathy Vijay’s much-anticipated farewell film, for what is rumored to be a record-breaking, all-time highest deal in Tamil cinema distribution. If confirmed, this would mark yet another major milestone for Romeo Pictures.
The banner, already riding high on the back of high profile acquisitions, is also reportedly set to bankroll Ajith Kumar’s next film, tentatively titled AK64, which is slated to go on floors this November. With Jana Nayagan scheduled for a grand worldwide release on January 9th, 2026, promotional activities are expected to begin in full swing from October – further raising anticipation across the industry.
Meanwhile, Romeo Pictures’ next release is the Kavin starrer KISS, hitting theatres this Friday, September 19th. With this lineup, Raahul is rapidly cementing his place as a powerhouse name among Tamil cinema audiences and trade circles alike.
An official confirmation regarding the Jana Nayagan deal is expected shortly. If it goes through, Raahul’s string of high-profile associations may well position him as one of the most influential producer-distributors in K-town today.
