Sivakarthikeyan is currently shooting for Parasakthi, a political period drama directed by Sudha Kongara. The film, which also stars Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela, has commenced its Pollachi schedule last week. Clips from the sets are surfacing online, with one featuring Rana Daggubati, sparking speculation about his possible role. However, the makers have not confirmed his involvement.
Parasakthi, based on the 1965 Anti-Hindi agitations in Tamil Nadu, boasts a strong ensemble cast including Dev Ramnath, Guru Somasundaram, Prithvi Rajan, Basil Joseph, and Ranjan Ramanayake. Initially planned with Suriya in the lead, the project was later revived with Sivakarthikeyan.
Sudha Kongara revealed that 40 days of shoot remain. The film’s technical team includes GV Prakash (music), Ravi K Chandran (cinematography), Sathish Suriya (editing), and Supreme Sundar (stunts). Filming has spanned locations like Chennai, Madurai, Karaikudi, Chidambaram, and Colombo.
Produced by Dawn Pictures, Parasakthi marks Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film and is slated for a Pongal 2026 release, where it will clash with Vijay’s Jana Nayagan.
