According to sources in the industry, veteran director KS Ravikumar is now working with Nelson for the script of Thalaivar169. Ravikumar is helping Nelson give finishing touches to the script, with weekly meetings taking place with Superstar Rajinikanth.

The shoot for the film is likely to take place in August, and will be wrapped up by the end of the year. The film has its music composed by Anirudh, and sources say that Priyanka Mohan will be roped in for an important role.
