After months of uncertainty surrounding its censor certification, Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has reportedly completed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) process. According to the latest reports, the film has finally been screened by the board, bringing an end to one of the biggest hurdles that delayed its release.
The latest development has also sparked discussions about the film’s certification. Reports indicate that Jana Nayagan is likely to receive an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate instead of the previously speculated U/A rating. However, an official confirmation from the makers or the CBFC is still awaited.
The film had faced an extended delay after its certification process became entangled in legal and procedural issues. Earlier this year, the makers approached the courts seeking relief, while the project also underwent multiple rounds of review before the certification process could be completed.
With the reported completion of censorship, Jana Nayagan is now expected to move towards its long-awaited theatrical release later this month. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the film, which marks Vijay’s final screen appearance before his full-fledged political journey.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan stars Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj and Priyamani in key roles. The film is produced by KVN Productions, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
