Ilayaraja honored with Centenary Award by IFFI

The 46th edition of International Film Festival of Indian officially flagged off yesterday in Goa. At the inaugural session, Union Minister of Finance and Information and Broadcasting Arun Jaitley, along with the chief guest Anil Kapoor, honored Maestro Ilayaraja with the Centenary Award for the Film Personality of the Year. 

Speaking at the occasion, Ilayaraja thanked the government and said, “I take this opportunity to urge the government to make music lessons mandatory in schools and colleges.” Pointing out the violent attacks across the world in the last few days, Raja added that music has the ability to ward off violence.
