In a landmark moment for Tamil cinema and music lovers, legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja and his son Yuvan Shankar Raja have joined voices for the very first time in the upcoming film Kombu Seevi. The song they have recorded is an emotional, lyrically rich number written by celebrated lyricist Pa. Vijay. Opening with touching lines that speak of maternal warmth and longing, the composition is expected to be one of the most heartfelt tracks in the film. Both Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan are known for their unique vocal tonalities, and their combined rendition is anticipated to create an unforgettable listening experience.

Directed by Ponram, Kombu Seevi features Sarath Kumar and Shanmuga Pandian in lead roles, supported by Kaali Venkat, Kalki Raja, and Tharnika. The film is produced by Star Cinemas, with Balasubramaniem handling cinematography and Dinesh Ponnuraj in charge of editing. Phoenix Prabhu and Saravana Sakthi have choreographed the film’s action sequences, adding further scale to the project.

With a release planned for December, Kombu Seevi is steadily gaining momentum. The unexpected and historic collaboration between Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan has elevated expectations surrounding the soundtrack, making it one of the most anticipated musical moments of the year. For fans of both maestros, this rare father-son duet is set to become a cherished milestone in Tamil cinema’s musical timeline.
