I hope they are not real policemen: Kamal Haasan on arson by cops

Speaking at a press meet today morning, Kamal Haasan said he hopes the government to come up with a proper explanation for all the violence that happened in the city yesterday where policemen were seen setting fire to vehicles.

I’m shocked and I hope some kind of reasonable explanation is given, which will calm us down. Because this will really scare a common man. He could become the victim of the arson or an arsonist himself. I only hope they are actors and not policemen; some actor like me wearing khakis.  I hope they are not real policemen,” said Kamal Haasan.

I am against any kind of ban. Be it my film or a bull. I was part of the anti-Hindi agitation. It was not against the Hindi language. It was against the thrusting of Hindi on us. I spoke to the Honorable CM. He thanked me for maintaining peace. I don’t think I made any inflammatory speech. I was calm. Do not follow me, I cannot lead you. Do not lead me, I cannot follow you, Let’s walk together. We’ve always been easy targets. Governments attack us. People attack us. Even the press attacks us,” he added.
