Housemates movie OTT release date: Z5 to premiere the emotional fantasy film
SK Productions' fantasy drama Housemates gears up for its digital premiere, as Z5 confirms the film’s official OTT release.
The fantasy‑drama Housemates, which won praise for its emotional depth and clever sci‑fi touches, is set to make its OTT debut on Z5 from September 19th, 2025. Director Rajvel’s debut film impressed critics with its heart, humour, and innovative ideas, all wrapped in a mainstream storytelling framework.
In Housemates, the early scenes ease in somewhat slowly, but once Kaali Venkat enters, the film finds its momentum. The pre‑interval portion lays down strong groundwork for a second half filled with surprises, emotional stakes, and thematic richness. Kaali Venkat and Vinodhini Vaidyanathan supply much of the film’s emotional core; Darshan, Arsha Baiju, and the young child actor also contribute memorable moments.
The fantasy elements, wormholes, time distortion, and parallel dimensions are handled with restraint, favouring character consequences over technical deep‑dives. While the film has some pacing issues early on and a few underused characters, its sincerity and emotional payoff make it a rewarding watch.
