Harish Kalyan’s transformation into a full-fledged action hero is now official with the release of the trailer for Diesel, his first-ever Diwali release. Touted as one of his most ambitious projects to date, Diesel is a high-octane action drama set against the gritty world of the crude oil mafia.
The trailer packs a punch with sleek visuals, racy editing, and plenty of explosive action. It hints at a revenge-driven storyline where Harish’s character, seemingly once part of the mafia, is betrayed and sets out to dismantle the very system he was part of. As director Shanmugam Muthusamy mentioned in recent interviews, the film is the result of detailed research and aims to present a grounded, yet massy action narrative.
Athulya Ravi stars opposite Harish as the romantic lead, while the supporting cast boasts an impressive lineup including Vinay Rai, Sai Kumar, Ananya, Karunaas, Ramesh Thilak, Kaali Venkat, and Vivek Prasanna — all of whom add depth to the commercial setup.
Backed by Third Eye Entertainment and SP Cinemas, with music composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, Diesel follows the momentum from Harish’s recent successful outings, Parking and Lubber Pandhu.
As the Diwali release date nears, Diesel enters the high-voltage box office race alongside Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude and Bison Kaalamaadan from Mari Selvaraj and Dhruv Vikram from October 17th. With solid buzz and a massy tone, Diesel is poised as a commercial entertainer aimed squarely at festive crowds.
