Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment joins hands with Karthik Subbaraj for ambitious venture

Production has officially begun for a new Tamil film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, marking his tenth directorial work, with the celebrated production house Sikhya Entertainment, led by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain, coming on board as co-producers. Filming kicked off today with a pooja ceremony in Madurai.

Sikhya Entertainment, known for bold and original storytelling including titles like The Lunchbox, Pagglait, Masaan, and the Oscar-winning short The Elephant Whisperers, enters Tamil cinema through this collaboration, aligning with Karthik Subbaraj’s reputation for inventive, genre-blending narrative.

Speaking about the partnership, Guneet Monga said, “At Sikhya, we’ve always believed in nurturing original voices and telling homegrown bold stories that travel across cultures. Partnering with Karthik feels like a natural extension of that mission.” On his part, Karthik Subbaraj remarked, “I’ve always admired the kind of cinema Sikhya stands for. This story we’re creating is something very close to my heart.”

Although further details such as the cast, title and technical team remain undisclosed, the union of Karthik’s directorial vision and Sikhya’s global-story-telling ambition has already generated significant interest.
