In celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, the creators of Draupathi 2 released the first look poster of the film, setting the tone for an intense historical narrative. Directed by Mohan G, the film stars Richard Rishi, who will take on the role of King Veera Simha Kadavarayan – a character rooted in regal legacy and valor.
Alongside the poster launch, the team shared a statement that reads, “The Hoysala emperor of the South, Third Veera Vallala, and the Kadavarayar kings of Senthamangalam: a legacy of bravery, sacrifice, and blood-soaked history,” hinting at the film’s epic scope and rich cultural backdrop.
Set in the 14th century, Draupathi 2 delves into the era of the Hoysala dynasty. However, it’s yet to be confirmed whether the film directly continues the storyline from the 2020 original, Draupathi.
The production is being spearheaded by Sola Shakkaravarthi under the GM Film Corporation banner. Music for the film is being composed by Ghibran, with Philip R Sunder handling cinematography and Devaraj in charge of editing duties. With the new chapter, Draupathi 2 promises to blend historical grandeur with intense storytelling, placing Richard Rishi in the center of a fierce and storied legacy.
