Film industry holds hunger strike against Qube, UFO

Film industry is staging a one-day fast in Valluvar Kottam against the expensive pricing and ineffective piracy model of the distribution networks Qube and UFO, two major players in the business. The hunger strike is spearheaded by Tamil Nadu Film Producer’s Council and important members of the industry are likely to part in the strike which is happening from 9 AM t0 5 PM.

“Qube and UFO are charging exorbitant amounts from producer to screen films. These companies earn nearly Rs. 400 annual revenue. And, they don’t even share a part of the profit to the producers,” says Kalaipuli S Thanu who presides the protest.
