Shankar applauds Maareesan for its powerful performances and gripping narrative, praising Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil, and the makers for delivering a compelling thriller.
Ace filmmaker Shankar took to his official Facebook and X page to heap praise on the recent thriller Maareesan, starring Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles. Sharing his thoughts after watching the film, Shankar lauded its storytelling and performances, particularly highlighting the impact of the second half.
“Just watched Maareesan – a story building first half followed by an unexpected and superb second half,” wrote Shankar. He went on to appreciate Vadivelu’s performance, saying, “His guileless appearance on screen and the sinister contrast in character gives immense depth and strength to the film. The scene where he breaks down… Wow, what a great performer!”
Fahadh Faasil also received praise for yet another seamless and commendable performance. Shankar didn’t forget to credit the creators, commending the director and writer for their clean and effective storytelling. He also acknowledged veteran producer RB Choudary for his consistent eye for quality scripts.
Maareesan is currently in its fourth week in cinemas and has enjoyed a successful theatrical run. This tightly woven thriller, known for its gripping and unpredictable narrative, is set to conclude its run this Wednesday, making way for Coolie, which hits screens on August 14th.
