Filmmaker Sasi has shared heartfelt insights into the central theme of his upcoming film Nooru Saami, emphasizing the importance of mother-child relationships and the emotional disconnect that has become increasingly common in modern life.
Drawing a comparison between his previous works and the new film, Sasi explained that while Pichaikkaran portrayed a mother as a divine figure in a son’s life, Nooru Saami focuses on a son’s desire to see his mother happy.
“When a mother is seen as God, it is Pichaikkaran. When a son wants to see his mother happy, it is Nooru Saami,” said the director, highlighting the emotional foundation of the story.
Sasi further reflected on how people often take their mothers for granted despite owing their very existence to them. He pointed out that while mothers remain the most important figures in many people’s lives, meaningful communication and emotional bonding have gradually diminished in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world.
According to the director, many individuals spend more time looking at screens than engaging in genuine conversations with their mothers. He also noted that a surprising number of people do not even remember their mother’s phone number, illustrating how modern lifestyles have created emotional distance within families.
“Nooru Saami is a film that speaks about these emotions, relationships and the importance of valuing our mothers while they are with us,” Sasi said, adding that the film aims to remind audiences of the unconditional love and sacrifices made by mothers.
With its emotionally driven narrative, Nooru Saami is expected to strike a chord with family audiences and explore themes that resonate across generations.
The film stars Vijay Antony in the lead role alongside Swasika, Lijomol Jose and Ajay Dhishan in pivotal roles. Backed by strong positive feedback from industry insiders, Nooru Saami is all set to hit screens this Friday, June 19.
