Dhruv Vikram to team up with Maniratnam for a romantic drama?

Dhruv Vikram likely to join Maniratnam for a Chennai-based cop love story; Rukmini Vasanth is expected to play the female lead.

A strong buzz is making rounds in the industry that Dhruv Vikram is set to join hands with legendary filmmaker Maniratnam for an upcoming film. Reportedly, the project is a Chennai-based romantic drama revolving around a police officer and his relationship with a city girl. The film is said to mark Maniratnam’s return to his roots with a more intimate, character-driven narrative. Unlike his recent pan-India ventures, this film will be made exclusively in Tamil, though dubbed versions in Telugu and Hindi are expected to follow after its release.

The project is slated to begin shooting in the first week of November. Actress Rukmini Vasanth is the frontrunner for the female lead, having auditioned for the role a few months ago. Music will be composed by AR Rahman, extending his iconic collaboration with Mani Ratnam, adding to the excitement surrounding the film.

Meanwhile, Dhruv’s upcoming film Bison with director Mari Selvaraj is scheduled for a Diwali release on October 17th, making 2025 a landmark year in his career.
