With Bison Kaalamaadan gearing up for release this Diwali, actress Anupama Parameswaran has praised her co-star Dhruv Vikram for his intense dedication to the film. Speaking at a recent promotional event, Anupama called Dhruv “one of the most passionate people” she’s worked with, highlighting the sheer effort he put into preparing for the role of a kabaddi player.
“He began his training long before I even joined the film. Kabaddi demands a lot, both physically and mentally – and he gave it everything,” she said. “He didn’t just act like a kabaddi player; he became one.” She added that watching Dhruv and director Mari Selvaraj collaborate on the ground during shoots felt like witnessing magic in motion. “That energy, that discipline – it was inspiring,” she said.
Directed by Mari Selvaraj, Bison Kaalamaadan is a sports drama that dives deep into themes of perseverance and personal struggle, set against the gritty backdrop of rural kabaddi. Alongside Dhruv and Anupama, the film features Rajisha Vijayan, Lal, Ameer, Pasupathi, Kalaiyarasan, and others in key roles. The technical crew includes Nivas K. Prasanna on music, Ezhil Arasu K handling cinematography, and editing by Sakthi Thiru.
Produced by Neelam Productions and Applause Entertainment, the film is slated for a theatrical release on October 17th, clashing with Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude and Harish Kalyan’s Diesel.
