Dharma Durai Songs Review

Review Overview

Endha Pakkam
Aandipatti
Poi Vaada
Makka Kalanguthappa
Naan Kaatrilae

Run-of-the-mill soundtrack from Yuvan.

After a highly successful combo with Seenu Ramaswamy in Idam Porul Yaevel, the successive outing in Dharmadurai is somewhat disappointing. The songs do fit into the genre of the film, but are devoid of Yuvan’s style and magical touch. Makka Kalanguthappa will hang around, but the rest of the soundtrack lies at bay.

Cast: Vijay Sethupathi, Tamannah, Aishwarya Rajesh, Srushti Dange

Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Lyrics: Vairamuthu

Diirector: Seenu Ramaswamy

Label: Trend Music

Endha Pakkam: Singers – Chinmayi, Rahul Nambiar

Chinmayi hands over a flawless rendition to an archetypical Yuvan tune, where the interludes show more interest than anything else. Enjoyable, just for now. Our PICK.

Aandipatti: Singers – Senthildass, Surmukhi

Simple setup from Yuvan, which deserved better vocals. Vairamuthu’s lyrical magic does manage to stand out and make you notice.

Poi Vaada: Singer – Srimadhumitha

A plain passable track from Yuvan, which may come in at an important junction in the film. Srimadhumitha does a decent job on the mic.

Makka Kalanguthappa: Singer – Mathichiyam Bala

So much energy and mischief in this one. The surefire hit of the lot, sure to go viral and make the theatres vibrate. One can’t really tie down his feet after listening to this. Our PICK!

Naan Kaatrilae: Singer – Karthik

Another slippery track in the film, which fails to click despite its rocky base. The lyrics which travel with a doctor may the only thing to pull you in here.
